Allergy and asthma season is here! Please remember that schools cannot dispense prescribed or over-the-counter medications (eye drops, antihistamines, etc.) without a release from your child’s physician. Please do not send these items to school without the proper paperwork. It is a good idea to have all of the necessary paperwork completed before your student needs any allergy medication. Click on the links for the district's policy about medications; the Medication Consent form; and the Medication Self-Carry form.
Symptoms of Norovirus (Norwalk virus) include diarrhea, vomiting, low-grade fever and abdominal cramps. Healthy people usually recover within one to three days, health departments advise. Highly contagious, Norovirus is spread through contaminated food, water and objects that come in contact with the mouth. Frequent hand-washing is the best way to prevent spread of the illness. Students who are sick should not return to school until the symptoms have been absent for at least 48 hours. www.cdc.gov/Features/Norovirus/ and www.cdph.ca.gov/HealthInfo/discond/Pages/Norovirus.aspx
